Ignition timing. Check, double check.
What did you do before the no start issue?

Also double check the plug wires from the distributor cap to each plug, easy to get crossed. After all checks out correctly you might consider pull starting especially if it has been a while since it was started. I have one that sat for a LONG time, it would fire but could not start until I pull started it the first time.

I've had to tow a couple, to get them to start, the first time, too. Don't know why it works, but it does! Is the mag timed, correctly?

Re: cub won't start
the mag should timed correct and the firing order should be right. I took the carb apart again because the float was sticking, hopefully thats ok now.

Re: cub won't start
Or a bad cap.
Had one of those a few years back but since it was new didn't think it could be the culprit. I had saved the old one so I put it back on and the engine fired up. Distributor ignition on mine.

Thanks! What do I win?
Glad it worked out for you Rob. Curious if there is some way of telling if a cap is bad. Mine was arcing all over the place inside. You could see the residue left behind from the arcing.
