Like I said been awhile since I been here as I have been busy getting old. How many of the old timers still here. Some that come to mind is John, Denny, Mike from Louisiana, Barnyard, Bull dog, Rudi and Eugene????

From Eugene. Still around and pretty much house bound. Current major problem is gall stones. Diagnosed just over a week ago. Mid December before I get to see the surgeon. Gall stones have been an increasing, ongoing, problem for almost 4 months before the diagnosis.

Now have medication for nausea and vomiting.
I have an excuse. CRS.

I'm glad I'm not in that list of old timers. Just retired. Yes we all are getting older. But we are still having fun.

Art, I watched your video you did a great job on that old Cub. I have one question, just above the headlight on the left side of the hood there is an odd shaped hole. Is this hole normal? My 52 has the same hole.

Liberto, There is a bracket that is normally spot welded there. The bracket bolts to the top of the radiator support and keeps the hood weight off of the dog legs. Here is a link to TM Tractor showing it: http://www.tmtractor.com/new/fl/827fp.htm

Hi,
After you weld the brackets onto the hood, the Cub parts book says use 5/16 18 x 1/2 inch long bolts, with lock washers, to hold the brackets to the radiator supports. The bolts have to be short so they don't hit the radiator.
If there haven't been bolts there for a long time, the threads in the holes might need cleaning. Be careful if you use a tap, it is close to the radiator. :)
