Fusible link?

Postby olebluegrassboy » Sun Nov 20, 2016 6:09 am

I have a 48 cub with a mag and a 12volt single wire alternator. There is a fusible link on the wire running from the amp meter to the starter. I need to replace the wire. Can anyone tell me if it really needs the fusible link?

I've never seen a fuse link in that location, on a Cub. Apparently, the person who did the conversion thought it was a good idea and I can't say that it isn't. It shouldn't be necessary, though.

Thank you Gary. It was on the cub when I bought it 21 years ago, and I've always been reluctant to remove it, even though I can't see a need for it.
