Farmall cub engine hour meter

Postby 61loboy » Tue Dec 20, 2016 2:10 pm

I have seen some cubs with the engine hour meter that doubles as a tach like most hour meters. The cable for the hour meter goes into the distributor I know that and that I have to buy a gear and cable to drive the hour meter. Does anyone know which hour meter is the correct one? If so please leave a link. If you know of the cable and gear to please leave links for those to!

The correct one has 3 speeds shown on the face.

I've always thought they were useless unless you want a trailer queen with all the options.

Hi,
Welcome to the website.
Here is info about the Cub tachometer, and some pics from the owner's manual. The owner's manual pics show it installed, and the cable routing. They say somewhere not to bend the cable sharp, it is like a car speedometer cable. Look closely in some of the pics and you can see the cable routing.
The page from the Cub parts book is below. :)

I don't really need mine, but I have one and I enjoy using it. I can keep track of the hours between oil changes and just for fun, I'm keeping track of how many hours I spend plowing snow this winter.
