A milestone
I decided to celebrate a milestone post as well as a new year today by adding a Cub to the herd. Some of you had already seen it in the Vine. It's a 1952 non-runner, free engine, straight tin (few broken bolts). Great rear wheels but the tires are split, fronts are usable. The tie rods need work, but there are no cracks that I could see. The PO said he had it running for a few minutes before it quit, hopefully he primed the pump first. As with my other Cubs, there is no specific use for this one yet. I'm sure I can find a use for it.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Speaking of herd, I am disappointed you didn't make a deal on a llama while you were there.
If you name this one.....Cub-a-Llama....... I'll recover though.

Bill was near my area, grabbing that one. He didn't stop by, though.

Sorry Guys, but the thought was there when we were in your area. Rosie had looked up your address. But we got running behind schedule. The seller had sold another tractor and that buyer got there a half hour after we did. I had the straps out, trailer in place and ready to load. The seller then decided to load the other guy first and fiddled around for a good half hour with him. By time he got back to me with an air tank to fill the back tire it was getting late. I would have filled the tire while he was loading the other guy. Then we find the tire would not take air. That and the fact the tie rods were disconnected caused some loading problems. He had a large fork truck like they haul bricks with on construction sites so I suggested he just pick it up and set it on with that. He decided to use his skid steer instead. That didn't pan out so he then got the lift. That ended up with a dead battery so he went back to get a jumper. We finally got it on and I was glad to be out of there. We wanted to get home by dark so we needed to head home as soon as we could.

Re: A milestone
Sounds like the trials and tribulations of dealing with sellers...... Been there many times. Most times you just want to load up your stuff, give them the darn money and get the heck outa there. But end up spending hours it seems listening to their entire life stories.....
I had one seller that his wife had made dinner for us since they knew we were coming in at about dinner time. That one we didn't turn down, but wished we would have. It was a long drive to get back home. But oh well.....

This wasn't your first rodeo, Bill. With somewhere north of 50-60 Cubs, how many stories like this do you have? I've heard a good many of them myself.

I could write a book. Maybe I should search the forum and find them all and publish it.

Re: A milestone
You must have practically driven past my house too.
Glad you got it picked up eventually.
Your right there is nearly always some loading adventure on the non-runners.

Had to go past me too. I can understand not seeing a mystery forum member like me, but Doug and Denny and Gary? To much of a hurry to play with your new toy--that's my take on it no matter how good of a story you come up with on loading problems.
Seriously it amazes me how many people have heavy equipment and don't know it's limits and/or how to use it.

Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.

I don't think it has been updated for the last several acquisitions.
