Cub Generator Connections

Postby Ian D » Tue Jan 31, 2017 12:13 pm

Hi
Just putting final touches to my Cub rebuild before starting and wondering about the generator connections?
This is a French Cub with Paris Rhone generator and Paris Rhone 3 connection regulator.
Reverting back to original 6 volts positive earth system
Got 3 connections on generator:
One on the end (cannot see any letters)
Two on the main body in the centre (marked "W" and "EXC")
"EXC" I have connected to "EXC" terminal on the regulator?
The end connection I have connected to the "DYN" connection on the regulator
And the "W" connection I have connected to nothing yet as I don't know?

Any advice and or wiring diagrams would be greatly received
It has a distributor with coil - all the rest of the wiring I think we have correct - just the generator connections we are unsure about
I have not yet made up the wiring harness - only connected things up to start it after full refurbishment

Regards

I have never seen a Paris Rhone generator, but my thoughts would be to look inside at the wiring. The unmarked end terminal may just be a ground attached to the housing.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

Hi John - good to hear from you again
Yeah - fair point - trouble is - this tractor was converted to 12V negative earth so even labeling up the old wiring isn't a guide really
I will check that connection in the end - it would make sense
Cheers
Ian

Search function, top of page. Search for French or French Cub. Then PM the original poster. Perhaps someone may have an answer.

Internet search for Paris Rhone to see if the company is still in business. If still in business, email or phone call to see if they can provide the answer.
I have an excuse. CRS.
