Re: Big snow for the N.E., are you ready?
just came in from the 1st plowing, snow is over my knees and I am not short, wet and heavy with lots of wind, some of the drifts are over the hood on my dump truck, it is such a white out have to look out the window to see where I was, heater and wipers cannot keep up to it, was just about done them blew a coolant hose, so used the backhoe for an hour to push it back, nice open machine but has a roof, had to thaw myself out if front of the fire place so I could in tie my boots, I was covered in ice, nice to be back inside where it is warm

35 degrees, and raining, here. Had about 4 inches, before the change over, to all rain. I prefer this, to Tim's weather.

Re: Big snow for the N.E., are you ready?
The storm shifted to the northmore we on the western side of ct is going to get 24++.
But there not sure if it goes more northwest she's going to be a big one.
I have four sets of chains on the jeep tractor. She's been resting enough. All gassed up, fluids topped off.
I just found out my new in'99 Jeep Wrangler has a rusted frame. Sounds like another animal jeep soon. Fix the frame with patches then box it with 3/16" or 1/4" plate. Locker diff in the front. I ordered this jeep in 99 loaded for plowing like the 44 Dana rear posi with 373:1 gears. Heavy duty auto tranny with no od. A frame off restoration,
I priced a new wrangler to replace this jeep it's $35k with no plow. A Ford hd f350 with no plow was $40k. My $400 willys is ok for now till I restore the 99. The willys loves a challenge she waits till the snow is over then pushes it. That little four banger with 75hp. I had this 55 jeep tractor for 25 years now.
I don't think I can climb up on the cub anymore. Getting old sux.
Tractors and jeeps it doesn't get any better.

Have to love those jeeps, especially the older ones, have a newer one now, it's nice, but I miss the old CJs I had, was thinking about looking for an old m151 mutt to restore, they were fun to drive when I was in the marines........ oh and still snowing here northeast corner of Jersey... Will be playing with the cub some more later and tomorrow

Re: Big snow for the N.E., are you ready?
The son took my 55 cj5 from me and plowed for me. He found out how much fun I been having the past 25 years.
Next year he can try the cub.

YIKES! Looks like it's time to pay another visit to Mr. E!!!
A trip to Mr. E might save you some snow, but not all that much cold. We're forecast to have our coldest night all winter Wednesday night at 35 degrees, and we're 5 hours farther south than he is!
Everybody stay safe out there!

Although the lake effect is not quite done yet, about 9 inches on the ground. Small potatoes compared to the Northeast. This time the shoe is on the other foot.
Now the high winds have started and are blowing what we do have into drifts that the road crews have to contend with. Spring is coming!

Dave, now that Cecil has moved to the edge of the earth, where the sailing ships used to fall off, he can just push the snow over, into the "black hole". If we got that much, we'd have to pile it, some place!
