68 12V starter question

Postby Stevetractor » Tue Mar 21, 2017 6:42 pm

Hello everyone. Was cleaning up my Cubs starter and noticed the mounting holes are 1/2 in the starter itself. As all Cubs the bolt holes in the block are 3/8. Starter looks right by the parts book and others I've seen. Anyone have any ideas? Old paint in the holes and it's yellow. Guess I'll have to use a flat washer with the bolts. Can't imagine that was factory.

Two 12v starters were used. If your starter has the IH part number, the parts manual TC37F gives the part number vs engine SN, starting at engine SN 224401 I believe. Here's some information on the Number Series Forum: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=95934#p755459
