Customer called thinking he has a cracked Final Drive, wanted it welded broke the transmission case and ripped the mounts off the right final drive where the drawbar was bolted on for the dirt plow, had to strap it together to keep it from falling apart to get it on the trailer, remember to check the finals for loose bolts

Re: Don't Let This Happen To You!!
Never broke a final yet, but several years ago I was either grading or pushing snow (don't remember now, has been at least 15 years), and when I started to back up I thought I saw the left fender move out of the corner of my eye. Rocked it a couple times, and sure enough the fender was moving just a tiny bit. Took it back to the shed and sure enough, all the bolts holding the final were loose. I had replaced a brake drum on that side (lock screw broke and backed off) a few months before and apparently had forgotten to tighten the bolts. Sure was glad I happened to notice the slight movement of that fender.

Re: Don't Let This Happen To You!!
Several years back I stepped on my standard Cub's drawbar and the right fender moved. Months prior to the incident I had replaced the right axle tube and both brakes. Apparently I didn't get the bolts tight enough or double check my work.
I have an excuse. CRS.

Ouch. I don't know that I would feel comfortable hauling that on a trailer as I'd be worried that it would let go the rest of the way.
