Loyd you can hook to a temp tank to the top half of the carb. That way you have access to the float. Can you manually operate the float and the fuel stop? If so it eliminates the needle, seat and gasket. If it stops check the float level again with the Lurker carl instructions. Assemble and install a hose bib fitting and a piece of clear plastic hose in place of the jet in the side of the carb. hook up the tank again is the fuel level good or too high. Does it leak now. Get that far and let us know. Fuel and electricity are the sam for trouble shooting. Break it down into small steps and progress methodically from there. There is never such a thing as well it can't be that.

I have diffiiculty understanding how a distorted gasket could possibly touch the float as many have claimed... it's simply too far above the float. With the carburetor top half clamped down inverted, the weight of the float should have the needle shut off tightly. Very low pressure air and soapy water will make bubbles to show where the gas is really getting through.

The one place that's hard to test is the main nozzle in the venturi. It's gasket in below the fuel level in the bowl and will leak gas if it isn't sealed well
