A Loader AND a Drawbar?

Postby jpate831 » Fri May 19, 2017 11:50 am

I recently got my IH-1000 loader working on my '47 Cub. Now that I'm over that hump, I'm trying to figure out the best way to get my drawbar back on. The long rails on the loader have never been cut, and they are preventing me from getting the drawbar on, at least with the standard brackets. I've heard that it hurts the loader's resale value to chop off the rails, so I'd like to keep them original if possible. I guess those other holes are used when mounting it to other model tractors.

Is it possible to modify the drawbar brackets such that I can have the drawbar and the loader installed at the same time?

Thanks.

Make a substitute drawbar to fit the holes.

I had an extra pair of brackets, so I gave it a shot. Here's how they turned out.

Winfield Dave,

I was not able to get the drawbar inside the frame of the IH1000 loader on my standard cub.

Are the loboy finals slightly wider than on stardard cub?

I guess I could have done (or could still do) something like that, but it would have raised my drawbar and moved it forward quite a bit. Food for thought, though.

Thanks.

I don't believe so.

In the link I posted there is a picture of mounting the draw bar with brackets to the loader frame. One bracket was inside and one outside the frame. It still moves the drawbar forward.

I changed to some standard bolts. The ones I was using before were the implement-style bolts with the taper between the head and the threads, and they were causing the bracket not to sit down all the way when I tightened them up. Standard bolts allowed my brackets to sit more level, and it looks a lot better now. I think I'll leave it at that and move on to my next project.

Thanks.
