So I'm looking for a fast hitch for my 57 cub. I've come across two of them. One with the lever depth control and one with the cranks depth control. Which one would be the correct one for my cub. Is one better than the other?
Thanks
Keith

Re: Fast hitch - lever or crank depth control.
First be aware that there are some differences between the LoBoy FH and std FCub FH. That said, the depth control vs the crank depth control seems to be a matter of preference. Some have posted that the lever allows quicker adjustment than the crank style. Download the manual and make sure you get ALL the parts since individual parts are hard to come by. You can also get FH information from the parts manual TC37F as to what fits different type Cubs.

My LoBoy has the crank, but probably would prefer the lever to plow with.. (sustained plowing) That being said, the LoBoy would be more difficult to climb on than it is, with a lever in the way.. 6 of one... Just my 2 cents worth.

Hands down, lever version. My '57 has the lever version and was purchased that way.

You guys are making me happy. The lever version is the cheaper of the two. Maybe I'll go get it next week if I can convince the finance company to let me spend some money.

Pay particular attention to the post about making sure what you're buying includes ALL the parts.

Don's advice is excellent. Stray bits/parts/pieces are expensive by-the-piece.

...as was my 57 Cub by the original owner. I'm the 3rd owner and hopefully the final one!

Had to purchase several parts to make my FH complete.
Also,
Does your fender have the reinforcement for the helper spring bracket?
Does your front rock shaft have the extra "tab" for the helper spring?

My cub has a helper spring on it already. The one I'm looking at is mounted to a tractor right now. I'll be sure to get it all.

So are you having your Cub buried with you or have you left orders to dismantle it upon your demise???????Peter Person wrote:........
