Generator

Postby ajhbike » Fri Jun 09, 2017 5:53 am

Can a generator be bench tested by grounding the F, connecting A to a 6v battery and testing the voltage output before taking it to a auto shop? I know there are scads of threads about how to test while on the tractor, but I have it all dismantled and cannot start it so I want to do a quick and dirty does it produce or not and if so how much. Then I can decide to take it in or not.

Second post down. You can also do this off the tractor. Clamp the GEN in a vise and use a battery and jumper cables.
