It ran when Parked 2 years ago
Demo #3 ran great 2 years ago when I parked it. I hones the points earlier this spring and got it to run for 45 minutes. Now she wont start. What I have done.
1. New Plugs.
2. Re-honed and gapped the points.
3. New battery.
I have fuel to the carb. It cranks great but doesn't turn over.
What is my next step?
Limited experience and tools.....

Try filing the points again even though you already done it. I've had a couple that were stubborn.

You state there is fuel to the carb. Did you check for that at the gas inlet, drain plug, or main jet? You could have a stuck needle valve or clogged main jet.

Hi,
The coil or condenser could have quit, or the points are not filed enough, they should be flat and shiny. I take them out and file them with a large file, or replace them if they are burned much.
It is common for the original Cub coils to quit when they get hot, after running for 30 - 45 minutes, like you said yours ran. Then when they cool off, they work again. It sound like yours might have quit completely, if it won't run when it is cool.
I would check the spark, like Jim said.
The gas cap vent might be plugged, then the fuel won't flow after some time running. It has small holes that have to be kept open.

1. I drained the card, cleaned the main jet. no go.
2. I refiled the points no go.
3. Is there a way to check coil and condenser or just order and replace?
On a side not, these steps help get Demo #2 started. It runs like a champ. No on to Demo #1. While I wait for answers on number 3

Why not just switch coil from # 2.

Hi,
Glad you are making progress.
The guys on here have said that they usually just replace a condenser, it they think it is not working.
If you have a coil that works, you could try it on the Cub that has no spark, if the Cubs are Battery Ignition, or magnetos with external coils.

Well I replaced the coil, points, and condenser, the points were pitted pretty bad, surprisingly. It turn on with half a crank. So I got em going. except for two red ones I need to rebuild two carbs before I tear into them. thanks for your help.
