Clover Solid State Voltage Reg

Postby Luke470 » Mon Jun 12, 2017 9:25 am

Voltage regulator on my loboy failed and am thinking of going with the clover unit. Folks on here seem to like it.
Few questions:

1. My loboy is a 6v positive ground. Which amperage regulator do I need And should I get the wires out the bottom or side?

2. As with regular voltage regulators do I need to repolarize after disconnecting the battery?

Thanks!

Luke

Email clover the information and they will recommend the correct unit.

When I did mine I got the wires out the side and made the connections inside the case but when Clover did one ( when they had the service of doing the conversion which they do not do anymore) they came out the bottom. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=94792&hilit=Clover

It just depends on you solder skills. You have more room to work on the outside of the regulator case. I do not think it is much of a difference.

One other option for about the same money is https://brillman.com/product/6-volt-one ... ve-ground/ 6 Volt One Wire Alternator 40 Amp Positive Ground

less original but more amps
When you only have 9 horsepower you need to know the names of all of the ponies!
