Thanks Glen and barnyard. I got a step closer tonight with a new sediment bowl and the freshly cleaned carb bacl in place. I can get it running longer now, but the throttle linkage is so far out of whack that I have to disconnect it and work the throttle by hand to keep it alive. Ran out of daylight tonight though, so I'll adjust the linkage per the manual tomorrow. The govenor does appear to be free and working since it surges the while it's running, but the adjustment is too far off for it to find it's home.
