Recent purchase and looking at another. (Done Deal)

Postby CharlieB » Sun Jul 09, 2017 9:35 am

I haven't posted for awhile but I am still running and riding my
cubs. I sold number 4 not long ago and just recently bought another
number 4. A 1968 yellow and white. Needs a new paint job but looks
fairly good and runs great.

I would like an opinion on a Farmall Cub with a fast hitch. I don[t know the
year but has the under slung exhaust and am told it is 6 volt with neg. ground.
(didn't know they did this)
Has a fast hitch turning plow and mid mount cultivators. May need front tires,
rear tires look fair. Can get for under $1000,00.

If it runs, under $1,000 sounds like a great deal. Generally speaking, if it doesn't run but will turn over, is complete and not beat up, is probably a good deal.

Thanks; The owner says it runs good. I am going tomorrow to see it and check it out.

Take your trailer and a pocket full of 'Benjamins'.

Take the implement manuals and fast hit manual with you. Make sure that you get all the parts.

Heck, you could part out the fast hitch and implements for the purchase price, or more.
I have an excuse. CRS.

They didn't. Somebody put the battery in backwards.

Thanks Jim, I didn't think there was a 6 volt neg ground. I'll take care of that.

Checked out the tractor, paid the man and brought it home. Runs great, Seems to have been taken good
care of. Generator charges, all 3 lights work, has a good battery (recent purchase). Rear tires look good,
front tires almost new but need tubes. Paint looks to be original. Looks like all parts of fast hitch are there.
Cultivators rusty but look good. Plow looks to be in good condition. Gas tank looks excellent inside.
Bought it all for $800.00.

Tried to load pictures but am told my files are too large. Will do it differently later.
