Hi all, just want to share my new to me international cub. Don't know slot about it other than it is a 1975 from what little research I have done. Got the carb off to do a rebuild as it was flooding. Not a fun kit to find, got the wrong kit out of the gate from napa. Gas plugs did not fit. Also if anyone can guess what belly mower this thing has that would be great. And any other info that you can tell from the photots. Trying to decided if I want to give this thing a paint job or not. Its main use will be. For hunting, planting plots and hopefully mow a bit of I can figure out deck I have

Welcome to the world of CUBS and to the FORUM. After a few posts you can access the MANUALS at the Quick Links connection at the top of this page. You'll find manuals for the tractor, implements, maintenance, repairs, parts, etc. Your tractor is probably an early LONGSTRIPE Cub, Deluxe seat, fast hitch. Should have a ZENITH carb, factory 12v alternator and negative ground electrical system. Also check out the HOW TO Form for lots of info on repair and maintenance of your tractor. Enjoy the trip!!

Not positive from just the one picture, but the Woods 42-C mower deck looks like the Lo-Boy model. The trailing arms appear to be flush mounted on top of the deck. Might just be the picture angle.

Hi,
Welcome to the website.
The Cub looks in good condition in your pics.
The Cub looks like what they call on here, a long stripe Cub. Which means the stripe on the hood.
IH changed the Cubs in mid 1975, and improved the power of the engine some, and put the stripes on the hood. The serial number of the Cub would tell if it is one of those.
Yours has the extra cost Fast Hitch on the rear.
Below is the owner's manual for the 1975 Cub, the experts on here recommend that people read it. It has much info about operation, maintenance, and lubrication.
It says in it, it is for tractors serial number 248125 and above.
http://farmallcub.com/rudi_cub/www.clea ... index.html
All the fluid levels should be checked to be sure they are not low.
They might all need changing if nobody has changed them lately.
If it a newer style Cub, it came with a Zenith carburetor, they started using them in mid 1975, before that they were the IH carb.
Below is a page from the Cub service manual showing where to set the float level, and float drop. If it is a Zenith carb, use the lower pics on the page. The float level should be set to exactly what it says, so the carb works right.

The guys have said there is a small screen in the inlet to the carb, that needs cleaning while it is apart. It is where the tube screws into the carb.
Below are pages from the Cub parts manual showing the Zenith carb, if you need a pic and info about it.
They show there the engine serial number when they began using it.

The engine serial number is stamped in the left side of the engine block, behind the oil filler tube, if you want to see it. You probably need a light to see it. This page from an older owner's manual shows where it is.

They originally had a battery box. The battery was the right size to fit in it. There was a rear light that attached on the rear of the battery box. There is a pic of the rear light on page 20 in the owner's manual.
Here is a listing for a new battery box at TM Tractor, if you want to see it. TM Tractor is at the bottom of most pages on here.

Re: New to me tractor. 1975
Wow,
Thanks all for such a quick reply. It does have the zenith carb 13794 71523c-91 stamped on it. Sounds like I might have got lucky with this one if it has more power. I did read the sticky on what to do when you first get a cub, all fluid changes etc. Glad to see such a huge forum and wealth of knowledge of this old thing. I'm sure I'm going to need it along the way. I'll get some more pictures of the deck. This is also the first tractor I have ever owned so it should be fun

Recommendation: Plan to visit the Deep South Cubfest in Sneeds FL next February. You'll be amazed at the wealth of knowledge available.

Congrats on the new-to-you Cub. It's a nice one!
As Stan and Mike suggested, don't discount attending the CubFest in northern Florida next Feb. It's withing spitting distance from you. Info for this and all CubFest activities can be found under the "CubFest and Tractor Show Announcements & Discussions" section. There's a calendar and a couple articles describing what a CubFest is all about.
