Rear Tires

Postby KC2LLW » Thu Sep 07, 2017 3:58 pm

Hello,
Looking for a new set of rear tires for my 1948 Cub. What is the best option price wise, online or a Local tire dealer? I live in North New Jersey so we do not have any local agriculture tire dealers in my area.

Thanks,
Steve

M.E. Miller tire http://www.millertire.com is a good place. Shipping may be rough though.

You might ask any local farmers in the area where they get their tires. There might be a nice little ag tire shop hiding in plain sight. Don't know any farmers? Stop in at a Farmer's Market and talk to people.

Research online dealers and your local tire shops for prices.

My local tire in town tire shop does not stock ag tires, but if you know the tire size and tread pattern, will provide a price. If you order from the in town tire shop, it may be a day or two before the tires and tubes arrive.
I have an excuse. CRS.

Ditto to what Eugene said. Decent tire dealer can get them in and should have someone who can install it, if you so desire

Last time i quoted tire shops they pushed 200 just for the tire...expect 50 or more for mounting and fluid each. Then....you open the new rim discussion at about 125 each. Before you know it you are pushing a grand for a fresh set of rubber. Dont rule out good used...and our 8.3-24 is used on quite a few other rigs...just because you have to take john deere rims to get the tires...dont rule them out...
