Two styles exhaust valves
I am looking for information on Farmall cub exhaust valves. I find there are two style of valve stems. These new ones don't look like my old ones. These new ones have a re leaf on the stem. I been running them for the past 5 years no problem. I just wanted to know why the difference. Thank you.

Re: Two styles exhaust valves
So far as I know, the only 2 exhaust valves IH sold were standard and Rorocap type, which rotated the valves a little each time they opened. The Rotocap valves were slightly shorter to allow room for the rotater. The ones you have may be aftermarket.
Glen just reminded me it is the valve spring that is different with the Rotocap, not the valve. Thanks Glen. As I said in another post I hate getting old and forgetful.

If you are not part of the solution,

Hi,
I guess you mean they have a different valve stem.

Re: Two styles exhaust valves
Could the relief (re leaf) referred to, be for the valve keepers.

Re: Two styles exhaust valves
The valve looks like the ones supertech Perfomance has for racing. They must figure as long as there is enough stem to be in the guide it is good enough.
When i got these i cant remember where i got them from. I am sure they were aftermarket. The stem from the top of the guide, up ,is a lot smaller. I figure it gives more room for the carbon and soot to build up over the next 6o years.
