Installing new main pulley

Postby ShawnAgne » Fri Sep 22, 2017 7:45 am

Pulled the Low Boy mule drive and pulley off my cub and going to install a new correct pulley with taper lock bushing. When I install do I need to pull the bush out of the pulley? Also how does one best drive the part on so as not to damage anything?

Generally, just make sure the bolts are plenty loose. It should slide on fairly easy with light taps. Make sure the shaft is clean and smooth.

Thanks, do the bolts go on the side towards the tractor or the side opposite the tractor?

Opposite, that makes insertion and removal easier.

As the pulley pulls onto the the bushing that is what locks the bushing in place, so it needs to at least be far enough off the bushing to not be squeezing the bushing against the splines of the pto.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!
