Looking good. Tractor Supply has an assortment of bushings if you're in need.

Having the L-54 blade myself, on both a Farmall and a Loboy at different times, I don't think there's a full 8" of height difference between the L-54 and 54A blades. More like 4". It's a little low on a Loboy, and just about right on a Farmall. I always thought the 54/54A hung a little low to begin with. When you're pushing snow and dirt you really want ground clearance so you can lift the blade and wallow your way out if you get in trouble. An L-54 on a Farmall tractor is really good for that.

Matt, thanks, that is encouraging.
I picked up a couple of spacers this morning, so I'm going to install a few more parts.

The blade installation is almost done. I need to work on some adjustable skids, make a bracket to hold the hydraulic hoses, clean up and paint the front wheel weights. I might actually get the thing done before the first snow. I am curious, what have you guys done regarding pitching the top of the blade forward, all the way, using the last adjustment hole or not so much?

I prefer a straighter blade with an extension of about 6 inches on the top. You can make your own extension using plywood.

Hey Bob McCarty, you're right, the L-54A blade works fine and I have 10" of clearance with the blade all the way up.

I have a 67 yellow and white with a blade. I don't have the part that connects to the boomerang. In a pinch just to see if it would work, I used #9 wire from the boomerang to the front and it works with constant attention. Yours looks nice.

How important is the spring for down pressure? the blade is already heavy. Can the blade be used without the spring? And be altered for use without the spring.

The spring provides "give", in the vertical direction, when the blade the blade contacts a solid object. Without the spring and rod, the linkage would be rigid and every impact would be transmitted directly to the tractor castings.

Thanks, it's been an enjoyable project. The spring also "softens" the landing when you put the blade down, you can see the spring compress with the down pressure.
I just ordered a step from Barnyard and will get the front wheel weights sand blasted on Monday.
