I have neither, but would like some real world comparisons. From what I read, the disc plow is for adverse conditions, i.e. hillsides, and maybe rough, rocky terrain, etc.? Anyways, since I don't have a plow yet for my '47, I was wondering if one was worth waiting for if the other one became available first, or if they both were available at the same time. Basically, the soil conditions for what I would use it for probably isn't a factor as I would probably be using it at plow day events and the conditions probably will vary from event to event.
I always thought the 193 plow would be better, and haven't really considered the 152 disc plow, but it did cross my mind recently.

Re: 193 Plow Versus 152 Disc Plow
If you can't have both I would recommend the 193 plow. It will be more compatible with plow days, as it cuts a square, flat-bottomed furrow where the disc plow cuts a rounded furrow. Unless you happen across a rare all-disc-plow plow day somewhere.

I use a Hester disk plow. No adverse conditions. I prefer it the 193 plow, that I used for the previous half century! One benefit, it is located in front of the operators platform, so, no twisting of the ancient neck, to see how it's plowing.

Yes, the round furrow isn't idea on plow day - the guy behind me wouldn't like it too much.
The idea of being able to see without turning around is a good selling point on the disc plow, but there seems to be more 193 plows than the disc ones, so that may play into my decision as well.

Re: 193 Plow Versus 152 Disc Plow
Remember to get the depth control lever if you get the 193. I have that plow and a Hester disc plow. Also with a disc plow you need to be able to slide your front end in and out. Because your front tire will be in the old furrow and back tire in the new furrow. Just for plow days only I would go for the 193. Does a smoother job and smoother furrow to drive in.
