How would you wire in a 12V sprayer?

Postby ShawnAgne » Sat Oct 21, 2017 9:27 pm

Thinking about using a high cargo rack mount to carry a sprayer (thinking boomless). Just wondering how would you wire in the sprayer to the cub?

Mine just clips to the battery on a 12v.
When you only have 9 horsepower you need to know the names of all of the ponies!

Same here. The leads to the sprayer pump have a line switch to turn on the sprayer pump.

The line switch is needed for the boom sprayer and not the hand held wand. The sprayer pump has a built in pressure switch. Once the pump's set pressure is reached, the pump shuts off. Start spraying with the hand held wand and the pump starts up.
I have an excuse. CRS.

If you have a 12v cub, then connect to the battery and use one of these to turn on and off the pump.

If you only have 6v available, then use a secondary battery that is 12v deep cycle to run the pump.

I wired mine with a fuse and a switch on the dashboard in line with a cigarette lighter socket that is facing the rear of the tractor. That way if the implement disconnects from the tractor, then the cigarette plug just pulls out without damaging wires. I also can turn on and off the sprayer from the dash.

That is cool. What I'm planning on doing is getting an ATV High Cargo carrier and attaching that to the drawbar. Then using a boomless sprayer. Will Keep the controls on the sprayer itself as I can easily turn around to use it.
