Just so we are all on the same page... he’s asking $2500 for a running Cub that comes with the 252a cultivators, or he is asking $2500 for the 252a cultivators ONLY?

I’m not familiar with that particular model designation, but if that is for the cultivators ONLY, that does not sound remotely reasonable to me.

Unless you got an extra zero in there and you meant to say $250? That I could see.

I don’t know if the 252a is exceedingly rare or what, but I have seen other cultivator setups sell for $150-$350 depending on condition and completeness. I really haven’t been paying much attention, though, since that is not an implement that I need.
I’m surprised no one else has weighed in on this topic yet. Everybody must be busy out on their tractors this weekend.

Is there something about this particular set that is specially suited for your needs? If not, I would move on and look elsewhere.

Consider:
An entire Cub in quite nice running condition can be had for $2500, with mower. Not so pretty but still a decent runner for $1200-$1500.
A fairly rare IH 1000 one-arm loader can be had for $1200-$1800. Other front end loaders perhaps slightly less.
A fairly rare IH 100 manure spreader can be had in usable shape from $500 to very good shape at $800.

I perused the manual for the 252 briefly, and I fail to see why these should be so expensive.

Depending on condition and completeness, I’d say 300-800. These are harder to find than the 144. Keep in mind with the ‘a’ designation, he may be talking about one for a super a.

Price depending on location, I can sell 1000 loaders all day long @ 1200-1800.

I would say a 252 cultivator in very good, complete cosmetic & mechanical condition would bring about 1/2 of what he is asking. They are a bit harder to find and I have never had one or a call for anyone wanting one; so its hard to tell. From a collectors standpoint, then probably what I said above. Of course around $500-$600 for a complete one needing restoration. Of course this is my opinion from what I have seen in the SE
