Hi,
Welcome to the website.

Below is the 1955 Cub owner's manual. The experts on here recommend that people read it. It has much info about operation, maintenance, and lubrication. It has pics of how the Cub originally looked. It has a table of contents on page 1. :)

Welcome to the group! Strongly recommend you review the pinned post at the top, titled "What to do with a Cub you just brought home" and all the comments. That combined with the owners manual (linked above) and a service manual and you should be in business.

Welcome on board the Cub "nuts" train. I would also recommend that you download the TC-37F Parts Catalogue. I have about worn mine out using it. Great info on views of assemblies.

Much appreciated. I realized the typo I made, I bought a 1948 not a 1958.

Thx to all for the welcome. I've only seen it for about 10 minutes in the barn and could hardly get to it. I hope to see it up close this weekend. Yeah, turns out it's a 1948 not 1958 like I thought, has been restored in years past so overall it's in good shape. One more for my addiction :-)

Hi,
Below is the 1949 Cub owner's manual. They don't have every year of manual on here, I think they have said that IH did not make a new manual every year.
This manual shows the original electrical system with a cutout, or Relay, IH called it.
The 1955 owner's manual above has the newer electrical system, with the voltage regulator. :)

Welcome to the forum!

Glen got you hooked up with the Owner's Manual. Other manuals and service books are located via the "Quick Links" pull-down at upper left of screen. You can attach pics via the "Attachments" tab located at the bottom of the screen when composing a post. Just follow directions. Since you corrected the year of your Cub, you may want to revise your handle from "1958Cub" to "1948Cub" (just sayin') :) If so, you can make that revision by clinking on your name in the upper right corner of the screen and going to "Profile."

Glad you're here.

48 is a good year. Not sure if anything special or anything but I own 3 cubs and all are 48s. Not intentionally but just worked out that way lol. Rebuilding the 3rd one now. Welcome and enjoy.

48 was the highest production year for Cubs.
