Postby Indy4570 » Thu Nov 30, 2017 4:46 pm

 Ok I admit I have loved Farmalls since I was a boy driving them on the farm. I seems to be infected with the old tractor disease. I make one lil trade for a 50 cub an before I know it I am wheelin n dealin with my brother for a 61 loboy. I m gonna need a bigger barn....

Acquiring another tractor (or implement) gives some relief but no known cure exists and no one has ever completely recovered long term. :surrender: :hattip:

I didn't even grow up on a farm, i bought my first Cub in October of this year, and then on November 11th I went to an auction. What a mistake...

I heard an avid tractor collector asked: Doesn't your wife get mad when you get another tractor? His response was "She doesn't count them so I just change places with all of em about every other month."

When your health reaches the point that maintaining the ones you have is a problem you will slow down. I didn't say you will stop. :( When my health reached that point I bought one with a loader on it to make moving and loading stuff easier. Of course I had to fix it up before I could use it to fix the others.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

I have the JD for that and could always use a 3 point boom on one of the fergies, one question to you more versed cub enthusiasts, how does one manage the 150 pound rear wheel weights? I almost killed myself reversing my rear rims for extra width yesterday! I tried a floorjack, that wasnt so successful,

Try the search feature. This subject was posted on several times a few weeks ago. Several different methods were discussed depending on the lifting equipment (or none) that you might have available. Your JD would do the job nicely with the right attachment/rigging.
EDIT: Take a look at the "HOW TO" Forum. There are several posts on mounting wheel weights located there.

no known cure but have one configured for each task you use one for will slow it down the disease progression a little, then you will be too busy with upkeep will not have the time to look at another one.

I am already considering hauling a 79 GMC 4x4 shortbox 700 miles to get the 61. Its my brother so that makes it more reasonable in my mind ;). A year ago there was a 49 TE20 Ferguson on ebay. I kept wishing it would sell so I could forget about it. One day I watched myself cliking on the buy it now button and wondering WTH I was doing?? some other uhm, "adventures" happened on the 2200 mile trip to go get it and bring it home :( Note , green handles on the nozzles at BP stations in Ohio do NOT mean its diesel. (no I didn't do it) But it cost a few days and $1000 to get back on the road on a trip to get a $750 tractor :surrender: . I love my lil 49 though and its almost repainted. :{_}:

When you only have 9 horsepower you need to know the names of all of the ponies!
