Identify a battery box cover thought it was for a cub

Postby inairam » Sun Dec 03, 2017 6:53 pm

I found this battery cover in a old bomb shelter at my mothers. ( yes we had a bomb shelter going up) I thought it was for a Cub but as I looked at it I realized it looked different.

It is in good shape. Any ideas?

Looks like a Cub cover to me. What looks different about it?

It is common sense to take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something.

the prongs for the hold down screws look a little different and the rubber spacer looks longer.

My mother had for a few years a larger non running IH tractor with a narrow front that she got in a trade. I thought it was for that.

If it is for a cub where do I get a replacement rubber bumpers?

Hi,
You can buy them at Case IH, if they still have them.

Below is a page from the Cub parts manual showing the cover, the rubbers are number 2 in the pic.

Bill, if you have that cover off the Cub, maybe you could measure the length and width of it, and post the numbers, then he can measure his, and see if it's the same size. :)

Just an FYI, as a Case IH Parts guy, those rubber bumpers are no longer available from Case IH.
