Re: UPDATE on front axle wedges
I still have all the pages for the KubKraft website.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Looking forward to seeing what the design looks like. If Bill (Design) and Rick (Production) are making it I’m sure it is going to be great. Glad to see you back Rick. You have been missed by many. Go for it!

Glad to see that you're back in the fabricating business again, Rick. I'm definitely interested. KubKraft lives! ;-)

That’s something I have never seen. All the weights I have seen have been lead.
Aluminum, lead... Same thing, right?

Ohhh.....a set for the A series tractors would be nice as they weigh more than a Cub and are easily tipped too. Maybe the Cub set will work with the A-series tractors interchangeably. We surely wouldn't want to ask Mr. Bill to redesign his own product. I'm sure they'll work with those models too! Excited to see the finished product!!

Re: UPDATE on front axle wedges
I still have in my posession an A/SA steering casting(attn Don McCombs). I would need someone to measure 2 things- - 1)the outer diameter of the round axle tube, and 2) the distance from the top of axle tube to the bottom of the steering casting at the centermost part(make sure axle and tractor is setting level to get an accurate measurement).
These wedges aren't(are not) going to work with the square industrial axle. At least from memory they won't work.
Thanks, Rick

I can get those dimensions, but not until the first week in March. Hopefully someone else will chime in, in the meantime.

Does Dale still have her A? Maybe it’s a bit closer than Dons.

Re: UPDATE on front axle wedges
Looks like the wedges wont work with both the cub and super a. The super a is totally different than the cub with design. I'd have to make a totally new mold for it. I'm just focusing on the cub at this point. Thanks, Rick

I am also interested in a set of the wedges, assuming my bank account can stand them.

Re: UPDATE on front axle wedges
I'm still plugging away at the wedge project. I'ts been fun so far and interesting. Here's a few pics of the progress. I have the melting process down. The crucible is alittle trickier but it's getting closer to pour time. I should have the mold completed in the next few days.
homemade 6 gallon forge. Jeff Silvey- you recognise those gloves
homemade torch from youtube
pop cans melted down
the trickiest part of the whole project

Re: UPDATE #2 on front axle wedges
I'm slowly making progress on the axle wedges. Between "life" and the cold snowy weather stopping progress, I figured I'd better show some updates before my project gets left in the dust. It's cold out again today but here's some pics showing I am doing something.
holes still need to be drilled for the two threaded rods to secure.
More updated pics soon. Credits to Bill Hudson for the idea using rods to secure making things bullet proof, and thanks to Phil for the nylon prototype.
