Dot head bolts 1957 cub
I have the 1957 cub. Someone has put different bolts in it over the years , I'm restoring it back to original I hope. Would this tractor have the bolts with the round dots on the heads or something else Thank you Billy

That would be interesting to know when the "Dot head" bolts changed to the "IH" bolts".

rob is correct, mid 50's they started using the "IH" marked bolts, they still had dot head bolts also, my theory is that they probably used the dot heads until they were used up, but that is a guess, just took apart a 55 and was a mixed bag of both bolts, just put a 57 together and it was probably 80% "IH" bolts

Re: Dot head bolts 1957 cub
Hi,
In the mid 1950's they had bolts with a dot in the center of the bolt heads, but the bolt heads also had 3 lines, or 6 lines, like modern bolts have. They were not just the dot in the middle of the bolt heads. I saw that on an early 1955 Cub.
My 1956 Cub is like Tim said above, bolts with mostly IH on them, and the 3 lines, or 6 lines, but still a few of the dot bolt heads, with the 3 lines, or 6 lines.
