Been a while since I have posted since I haven’t had a lot of time to work on the tractor but I have done a little tinkering here and there. I finally got my 3 point hitch dialed in and working pretty good and bought a small box blade and a carry-all to hang off the back. I have really enjoyed having these and it has made the tractor much more useful to me. The only problem I have encountered so far is that the mule bracket that I welded everything up to is just too light of steel to take the abuse I have put the hitch through. With this being an issue I have decided to rebuild everything using heavier materials. I have the brackets cut out and installed and will weld in a 3/8" x 3" steel tube to carry the load.
I also ended up having to install heli-coils in the final drives due to the thread holes being stripped out on a couple of bolt holes. One hole had already been tapped to a larger bolt so I heli-coiled it as well to have all the same size bolts again. I was very impressed by the strength of these heli-coils. I doubt these will ever strip out again. At one point I got the tool stuck and had to ratchet it out with a come-along. Sometimes things just don’t come easy!

I enjoyed meeting some of you guys at the DSCF last weekend and hope to see you again in March.

Here are a few pics of my new 3 point hitch fabrication. Curious if anyone knows why the bolt pattern on the final drives are different where these brackets attach? You would think they would be the same pattern.

Haven't kept up with the hours but I would guess 30-40+ with the welding and fabrication stuff.

Been a while since I posted. Enjoyed visiting with some of you at the LA Cubfest earlier in the month. Haven't done a whole lot to my cub lately but did recently acquire a Twindraulic Model DJR loader and am working on installing it. I have seen a few different style loaders for the cubs but can't seem to find much info on this particular one.
The loader is in great condition and has very little wear. As far as I can tell it only needs a few bushings and pins fabricated and a new set of hydraulic hoses made.
So far I have I have gotten some of the bushings and some pins fabricated and started cleaning and painting some parts. Looks like I'll have to widen my wheels to allow for the installation. Hope to have it going pretty soon.

Been working on the loader project now about 6 weeks. Always seems to be something that causes a few setbacks. With all the rain we have gotten it has made it less desirable to get out and work in the shop. Seems like it has rained every weekend but the past two but the weather is now getting nice. Had a little set back with the lathe as well. The clutch shaft broke off so I had to weld a new shaft end on it. Luckily it seems to be holding up well. This lathe was built in the early 1900s so there are no replacement parts. We are finally finished with machining all the bushings and pins needed and seem to have everything working well. I was hoping the loader would be a little stronger but it will probably suit me fine. I am guessing it might pick up between 250-300 pounds. It amazes me that this loader is working off a 1/8" supply line coming from the touch control. I am wondering if I could tweak the power a bit by eliminating a couple of the block 90s and using straight fittings. Any thoughts?
