Start looking at serial numbers on those long stripes in NC. The last Cub built 253685, was shipped to Miller True Value Hardware of Charlotte
North Carolina.
It's location is unknown.

Russ

First of all, what a great Cub! A true beauty.

Hey guys, I'm still new to this site so this may be old news. Sorry if it is, but I'll pass along some folklore I picked up in my travels.

For what its worth, I was selling raffle tickets on our tractor club's Cub a couple years ago at the Auto Fair in Charlotte. A man approached me and said that he owned Miller True Value Hardware. He said his store bought the last six Cubs ever produced and requested that they be painted red. The final two in the serial number list were sold to another company. They were burnt in a fire at that building somewhere in the Charlotte area. The man I spoke with said he went to see the tractors and that the fire melted the tractors so bad that the front ends were sagging. The tractors were scrapped.

Now keep in mind that he didn't have proof with him and I can't even remember his name now. He seemed awful knowledgeable about Cubs, especially the later ones. Just passing it along with no evidence.

I didn't make it either Michael. Spent friday and the weekend getting ready for my first daughters going to college party.
She's going to Kutztown for Art Education. She also likes the Cub.

Russ that is one sweet tractor - I have looked at your pictures many times to compare things on my 78 and see if mine is correct.
I really like yours because it is a 79, original, and seems to be un-touched. You should be very proud of it !
