Dan EnglandI am Dan England's son and I am posting to this forum to inform all of my dad's Farmall family of his passing. After a long battle with cancer he became ill Friday and was hospitalized until his death around noon today. Dad considered the people on this forum to be not only great friends but also extended family. He was proud of his association with each and every one of you and you added a lot of joy to some really tough years of his life. For this we as his family are very grateful.
Thanks again, The Family of Dan England
Re: Dan EnglandMy condolences to your family.
I never met Dan but we conversed back and forth through email, etc. May the Lord comfort you in your time of sorrow. Peter
Re: Dan EnglandThank you for posting. So very sorry to hear this sad news. I never got to meet him in person, but considered him a true friend due to our conversations on this forum.

Dan was well known here on the Forum, and well liked, we'll all miss him...... Both Dan and the entire family are in our thoughts and prayers. Mike Duncan
Re: Dan EnglandRosanne and I are deeply saddened to hear this news. I met Dan one time and that was when I bought a Cub from him. From the time we first talked, I knew he was a man with great integrity. I never hesitated in buying that Cub because I knew it was a good one if Dan said so. He and I spent the weekend together at the Texas Tumble and Rosie and I thoroughly enjoyed our time with Dan and Janie. We kept in touch through PMs and phone calls on a continued basis. It was always a joy to talk to him. His wisdom and wit will surely be missed by all who knew him.
Dan, with Waldo at the Tumble right after I bought the Cub from him. Dan made it a point to tell me that if the Cub ever went on the market to let him know first in case he wanted it back. Don't worry Dan, Rosie and I will take good care of it. ![]() Our prayers go out to all the England family in this time of sorrow. I don't believe in taking the bull by the horns. I took a goat by the horns once and that was enough excitement for me.

Re: Dan EnglandI met your father at that same Texas Tumble, and immediately recognized an honorable and humble man. I really appreciated his contributions to this community, and weep with you in your time of sorrow.

Re: Dan EnglandThank you for letting us know. Dan was a kind and thoughtful man whom I considered a friend even though we never met in person. My deepest condolences.
Re: Dan EnglandCondolences to you all from Janet and I. I was fortunate to have met Dan and as the others said, he was obviously a man of integrity. I also found him to be a man of great courage. He faced his battle with cancer head on and never gave up.
I enjoyed our many "conversations" via e-mail and private message. I will truly miss him. Bigdog

Re: Dan EnglandWow. It seems strange to me to feel like this, like I just lost a friend, when we had never met. But that is exactly what I am feeling right now. I always enjoyed reading his comments and posts and considered him a friend.
My thoughts and prayers are with Dans family and I'd like them to know that he truly was a member of this family and he will be missed. God's speed Dan. 1929 Farmall Regular

Re: Dan EnglandAnnie and I were fortunate enough to spend time with Dan and Janie. Several times they opened their spare bedroom and insisted we stay with them. I have never met a more gracious couple or a nicer gentleman than Dan. Ironically Dan taught in our local Bakersfield school before moving on to the University of Arkansas. Dan shared much about his illness with us both by phone and e-mail. He asked me not to tell the forum how sick he really was. I tried to respect his request.
This picture is a rare instance when Dan was not wearing his trademark blue jump suit. The forum has lost a great member and Annie and I have lost a close friend. We will keep the family in our thoughts and prayers. Vince

Re: Dan EnglandThank you for informing us of the passing. I have to say that your dad was as fine of a man as I have ever met.
(not in person sadly ). We enjoyed many conversations and his concern and willingness to share with me and help in any way he could will never be forgotten. I will truly have a void from his passing but a full heart in having the opportunity to get to know your father in a special way. God bless him and you all. Please send special regards to Mrs Janie to know we are with her in spirit always. jim Foose
