New Guy from NC

Postby Midlandman910 » Wed Jan 10, 2018 6:53 pm

I just joined the forum today. As a boy, I remember cultivating with a Cub tractor. Probably one of the world's best tractors for cultivating and being able to see what you were doing. My neighbor had an old cub that he just gave to me. It had been sitting in his yard for a couple years. I brought it home today. I see from the serial number that it is a 1951 model; although, I think it has the wrong grill on it. I plan on refurbishing it. I have done a couple tractors in the past few years, so I guess I am one notch above a beginning rookie. I am sure I will have some questions at some point. Hope to be posting a few pics of my progress (when I figure out how)

Welcome to the forum. Nice to read you have a history farming with a Cub.

Once you've made your 2nd post, you'll have access to the free PDF manuals located via the "Quick Links" pull-down menu in the upper left corner of the screen. Download the Owner's Manual and read through it, then get the Parts and Service Manuals as needed for your restoration.

Glad to have you aboard.

When you're ready to post a picture, it needs to be no more than about 500 Kb. There are various online programs to do this, or use Paint's resizing tool. Once you're ready to post a pic, go to the normal Post creation screen to type your verbage and you'll notice a couple tabs below the window "Options" and "Attachments". Hit the second one and follow the instructions. Remember, always use the Preview button before Submitting a post. It will show you exactly what will appear in the thread.

There are also some good threads to read in the How To Forum on posting pics; located here: http://www.farmallcub.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=148

I'd also encourage you to start reading through the Forum Rules, Suggestions, Feedback & Information section; lots of great help getting you familiar with the site: http://www.farmallcub.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=20

Welcome to the forum. Posting pictures seems to cause problems for most new members. If you go to the forum Index and scroll all the way to the bottom you will find the “Testing Forum (sandbox)”. You can practice posting pictures here until you get it figured out without worrying about making mistakes.

Welcome from another fellow NC-er! There are quite a few of us here, and in July we will be having our 2nd Cubfest in Sanford. A few things that this forum has going for it:

1 As mentioned, check out all the great posts in the HOW TO Section
2 Check out the CUBFESTS calendar, gatherings of Farmall folks to share info, help with each other's tractors or components, tell tall tales, eat good food, and generally have loads of fun. The first of the year is in Sneads, FL, in Feb and I am going, if you need a ride!
3 Holler if you need help...lots of knowledgeable people here ready to answer questions you may have.
