Let me tell you. I live in east central Illinois. It wasn’t until the last 5 years of his life did he make the switch to John Deere, and that was only because it was the only dealer within 50 miles. My stepfather ran Orange, prairie gold, green and that other red tractor, he wasn’t picky. So I have been on tractors since an early age. I am married and have been since 1992. We have 5 sometimes-wonderful

I served in the United States Air Force for a little over 8 years. I was forced out for medical reasons; otherwise I would have retired from the military. As I loved every minute. I am very active with Veteran Affairs and supportive of ALL vets. Like one of our board members, if you can read this thank a teacher, if you are reading english, thank a vet!
My full time job is an addiction therapist for a local community based mental health facility. I have worked in this field since 1991. What led me to this field was my own personal recovery from the addiction to alcohol. I have been clean and sober since 1989. And willing to share my experience strength and hope with anyone who may need to hear it. I have seen, heard and lived just about everything you can imagine. I have worked just about every level of care in the field as well, in the military world and the civilian world.
I purchased my first Farmall cub, I call stainless, a 1955 FCUB with a woods 59 belly mower http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b46/v ... stuck1.jpg from a close friend, that I think of a pseudo father, since mine has passed away. I loved it from day one. Stainless and I have had a love and hate relationship since day one. I love her, and she hates to work. She starts most days, and works real hard for about an hour, maybe two, and dies. And won’t start for nothing. About the time I purchased stainless, I looked up FARMALLCUB.COM and started to lurk in the shadows.
I lurked for about a year, before I joined. I don’t remember the topic that compelled me to go and make the leap, but I did, and loved being a member ever since. It wasn’t long after that I found myself buying more cubs. As it’s said on this site, if you got one cub, you got two or more. Or if you got implements that don’t have a tractor attached to them, you need to go buy more tractors! So I started buying cubs. Not being a farmer, myself these days, i wanted my children to appreciate them values most of us were raised with, hard work and patience. So i decided to make tractors my hobby, and include my children in on that. So the boys and even my little girl, go out and work on the tractors each sunday.
Each sunday, "Daddy, is it time to go play tractors," Sounds like a good idea to me! Hopefully passing this longstanding family tradition of farming and working with iron, with continue through the ages. I am in hopes to have one restored tractor for each of my children some day. How did I come up with the name videodoc? Well, I used to repair VCR’s long before they were disposable. I even owned a video store chain, before a national chain moved into town and forced me out of business. I have used variations of the video doctor for years as my handle, and I guess it has stuck.
That’s me, pretty much in a nutshell. I am glad to be a small part of this forum. I am a firm believer in what goes around will come around, treat your neighbor how you want to be treated. Always do the next right thing. And always respect your elders. Share you struggle it becomes halved, share your joy, it becomes doubled.
