I have been a member of the group for about 3 years. I live in a small town near Umass Amherst where I am employed, note I said employed not work ,you know all those state worker jokes. I was raised on a small farm which I now own. We had a green and yellow tractor when I was young it burn't down our barn, long story.
With 7 children the farm was too small to support the family, so my father went to work for the usda as a tobbacco grader. It was a great job but he was on the road much of the time. The best part of that was for 2 or 3 weeks every summer I would travel with him to the Carolinas ,Maryland ,Virginia, pretty any where on the east cost with tobbacco. I saw a lot of great farms and met a lot of nice people. I always wished our farm had been bigger and I could live the life of a farmer.
Our old green tractor was rebuilt after the fire but it was tough to start and deal with. So at the age of 14 in 1971 we got a 1967 cub from day 1 it was mine. Until I was legal to drive a car that cub got lots of use. Jump forward my parents have been gone a while I have that cub with a bunch of implements and now last month I bought # 2 a 1975 don't ask why it just happens as most of you know.
Enough of the long wind , this is a great site and as said many times
you meet great people through the site I am thrilled to be a part of it.
