hey all - back again! the good news is that after taking apart, cleaning, and reassembling the electrical system (and replacing plugs, wires, and the battery) the tractor's up and running in fine shape!

just wanted to say thanks for pointing me in the direction of a good manual. i'm sure i'll be back again with more questions as things start to break...
