Hello from SW PA.

Hello eveybody! Finally decided to introduce myself. I'm Bonehead (a.k.a. Tony) from Bridgeville PA. It's about 12 miles south of Pittsburgh. I've been in the back ground for awhile reading other posts and learning the ins and outs of the web site and picking up some tips. Used some already to get 2 running.

I recently bought the house my family built (unfortunatly it was from their estate) and it came with a couple toys. 5 cubs (mostly late 40's ,early 50's) and 2 John Deeres with different implements. Dad hated changing them so if he needed to change it he bought another toy ..er ... I mean tractor. I'm now in the process of getting them working again. For the most part only one has been kind of running during the settlement, but the other 4 were not. The one that was kind of running just needed a battery and fluids changed at first. Then started running rough. Cleaned points ,changed plugs, the normal basic things, after it warmed up would only run at 3/4 to full choke. A carb cleaning/ rebuild is in the near future. (Judging from what I've read so far.)

By the way i'm Bolivar cub 's brother-in-law. Spent a couple of weeks getting his cub(my #2) up and running. A BIG THANKS to you guys!! Delivered it down to him over Memorial weekend. Glad to say no problems getting her there.

So that means 3 to go. Not sure how many I can keep, I'm only missing two things to do them justice. Time and money.

Welcome to the best forum on the whole WWW, Tony!!!

I am originally from SW Pa and used to drive past your town all the time on the way to Washington, PA for School (W&J, Class of 1992...yeesh that is a long time ago)... I am from Hampton Township in the North Hills, so a decent piece away from you. Still a blitzburgher at heart even though I live a half a continent away!

You are gonna love it here...some of the best folks in the world post right here!

Tony:

Not much better than being able to keep alive your Dad's collection. Hmmm a man ahead of his time... One Implement = One Cub.. Two Implements = Two Cubs... and on and on .. just like the Everready Bunny. A wise, wise man :big smile:

If you click on the Site Rules, Regulations, & Important Information, it will point you to  the Welcome Wagon wherein you will find links to many useful sites and topics. One of which is the Cub Manual Server where you will find a bunch of really useful links.
