Yup, the Maroons were an NFL team from Pottsville. That's right. NFLteam. My father saw Red Grange play in Pottsville when Chicago came to town. They even won an NFL championship but it was taken away from them for playing an exhibition game in Philly. Look it up. It is a great story and part of your history.

Over the years, I was finding that my name was already taken as a user name at some web sites and I finally found out why!

 He is "Bob" on FB, which is what I prefer, but I used my proper given name when I signed up. It is a hoot for both of us as there are only a handful of listings with that name in the country. Other than my mother and sister, none of them are relatives. The coal company changed my grandfather's (whom I never met as he died young with Black Lung) name to what mine is and my uncle's name was discombobulated by the Army.

Bob:

I found it funny cause it is a comment I hear all the time when folks talk about me and me twin. First chance I get to return the compliment. The discombobulation of European names was common at Ellis Island and Pier 21 here... :big give up:

My grandfather also passed away from Black Lung -- many years in the gold mines.. but I was fortunate to know him very well. (+)

David, Bob is already sharing his name with that fella in Pottsville. Are you thinking of changing your name?
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.
