Timex, That is a wonderful story and I enjoyed it immensely. That was like finding that needle in a haystack. Have lots of fun with Patty and welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the advice Bigdog and the invite to Cubfest. We are getting really excited about going. It would be great to see other Farmall tractors there and meet everyone. It would also help to get to know what is normal in terms of engine power, smoke, oil usage, and other things. I don't have enough experience with these older tractors to know what is normal. However, I am getting a lot of help on the Farmall Cub section of this forum. http://www.farmallcub.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=55177

Well, Timex, in the "other things" category, let's not forget the fun and camaraderie!! You cannot image how high the level of these are among this group. When you make it to a cubfest, I am sure you will get a good idea what a great group of folks you have found. :{_}: :{_}:

BTW, if your wife thinks you're crazy now, wait'll you bring home the 4th Cub !!! Start preparing a logical justification now just to be on the safe side. The one that seems to have withstood the test of time is that it's MUCH easier to have a Cub dedicated to each implement !! You're doing it this way so you don't hurt yourself !! (that's my story and I'm sticking to it) Craig

It looks like I am going to need to justify a new shop to restore my Cub in, then another pole shed to store the finished ones in, wow, this is getting more involved when I first started out with this idea. Already I am ordering new tools, eyeing up spray guns, etc. My extra mental energy will need to be consumed with justifications soon.... :{_}:

I know the feeling...people ask me "why do you want another Cub, the ones you have are running ok?"...
I say "Hi, my name is Dave...and I'm a Cubaholic..."

Thanks, I appreciate the kind remarks. Actually since it all turned out so nice in the end, we can smile about it all now. However, over the many years that I thought about my childhood tractor and how I lost Patty, it was rather painful to think about. Things that were close to our heart as a child :||): seem to stick with us for life. In any case, we are very glad to have her back home!!!
