Hello from the Middle of the Mitten...Michigan

Hello, I am excited to introduce myself and join in the fun.

My husband and I live on a hobby farm in central Michigan. Today we bought a 1953 Cub. I am hoping to be able to get the tools I need to do my garden work and also some light haying jobs and hauling around our place. I have begun to live the dream that I have held for some fifty years... my own farm!

I am sure that there are plenty of mistakes to be made, but the hope is that I will learn from them. Please excuse my stupid questions, my grandparents were farmers, but my parents not. So I am starting from the beginning. I do have some experience with gardening and some livestock, but using tractors and such is still very new. We started doing our own hay three years ago with our MF 165 and have done okay so far. The Cub will be my baby so I have alot to learn.

Looking forward to learning from those in the know.

Welcome, from the bottom of the mitten!! :D You'll find the Cub very economic to run and repair if needed. You can get the best advice and help from the members here. How big is your farm and what kind of farming are you planning to do.
I too have a '53 and love it. If you are going to use the tractor for farming, a fast hitch sure will make changing implements quick and easy, more so that the standard hitch. Just an option if you haven't purchased implements yet.
