Hi everyone,
I bought a tractor the other day. I've never owned one, I've never even driven one. But, ever since I was a kid, I thought they were great. I have grown up fixing and restoring cars and motorcycles. I have always found the simple, robust mechanical nature of older tractors to be appealing. I have looked at tractors for sale locally many times, but have always talked myself out of it because I have no real need for one, I couldn't really make up a need.
One came up for sale not far from my house a couple of weeks ago. I have always liked the Farmall line and I have been looking at Cubs and A's. I looked at it several times. My wife finally told me to go get it.
It's a 49'. It runs and appears to be almost complete, came with a couple of boxes of parts and the original manual and paper work. The gentleman I bought it from took it on a trade from the family of the original owner and hadn't had it for very long. I got it for the fair (I think) price of $800.
I looking forward to restoring it. Maybe I will drive it in the local parade.
Thanks,
Paul
