Hi all, I've been a frequent lurker here over the last few months, but finally joined to possibly help others as well as learn from the more experienced folks here.
I own a regular cub, S/N 221833 J that got handed down to me when my dad passed away in 1995. It's been in the family since the late 60's - 68 or 69 when Dad bought tractor, plow, cultivators, 42 belly mower, and 2 section disc for $1200 - the same price as a 12 hp cub cadet at the time. It's mowed grass for the last 40 odd years, plowed sweet potato ridges, hilled potatoes and pulled hayrides. It may be slow, but it's still getting the job done. I lost possession of the disc, but still have all the other implements. Last fall I bought a 54 blade for it - just in time for a snowless winter. Earlier this winter I bought a '65 lo boy for the rear tires and got a 59 mower as part of the deal. The wheels got switched over in place of the original, dry rotted rears and I got the 59 rebuilt enough to use this year to mow (10 lbs of rod and lots of steel plate). I know the 59CL isn't supposed to fit, but it's not that difficult a conversion if you have a little plate steel around and some big drill bits. Now to either fix or part out the old lo boy..... If you see me out mowing in Southern Indiana - wave on your way past.

Welcome to the forum! Since you have been lurking you already know how great this site is as a source of Cub information. I see you are about 2 1/2 hours from Cincinnati. Feel free to join many of the forum members June 1 & 2 for a great time at the Barnyard Bash Cubfest. More info on that can be found here www.barnyardbash.com
I don't believe in taking the bull by the horns. I took a goat by the horns once and that was enough excitement for me. Barnyard Bash CubFest May 31 - June 1, 2013 Click here for info.

NT Renn: Nice to see a long time lurker come in out of the weeds As Bill said, you probably already know pretty much just what is available here to our members, and you gotta know that , so post some of the 63 and the 65 Lo-boy. These things are addictive and restoring them seems to be kinda logical. Congrats on becoming the Keeper of the Family Cub
