G'day to you and congrats :applause: on becoming the keeper of your fiance's granddad's Super A.

I don't have a lot of information on the Super A but I do have some:

There are lots of resources for our members, Most of them are Cub related but many of our members have A's, Super A's and others of the Letter and Number series Farmall's. I am sure one of them will be along to help you diagnose your A. Suggest you search the Farmall A, Super A, AV sub forum for possible fixes.

Again, enjoy the journey

One of which is the Cub Manual Server. Enjoy!.

Welcome to the forum. first thing, is this a distributor ignition or a magneto? If a distributor, use a test light or voltmeter to make sure you are getting voltage to the coil. If getting it to the coil, go to the distributor side of the coil and see if you have voltage there when points are open, and no voltage when they close.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!
