New from the state of Nebraska

Postby old red 1950 » Thu Sep 12, 2013 6:40 pm

Purchased my first Cub last month, a 1948 "barn find"!!! Hasn't run for over 6 yrs and am currently in the process of rebuilding the engine! It was stuck tho not badly, did have to have couple valve seats replaced!! Not really in too bad of shape, under the 2 inches of "barn dust" & dried grease! Tires were in good shape with minor weather cracking!! I am currently retired due to a disability from a truck accident 3yrs ago, was a diesel tech for state highway dept of Roads for 27+yrs pryer to the accident! I rebuild (restore?) old tractors, have farmalls (1948 cub,1943 H, 2 F20s, 450G, 560D, 1066) and massey harris (1938 101, 1941 101 jr., Pony, 22, 30, 33, 44,)mostly, with addition to a 1947 E3 coop, a 1945 allis chalmers c, a 1947 ford 2n and a Satoh 650g! Not all have been restored!!!! Have found this to be a very friendly and informative site!

G'day and congrats :applause: on acquiring your 1st Cub. You definitely are into old iron .. :big smile: that is quite the variety. Sounds like you are enjoying yourself. Good for you. Being disabled just means we have to find alternate methods of doing things ...

Image to Farmallcub.com :big smile: Forum Family. And you have come to the right place for all things Cub related. If you click on the Site Rules, Regulations, & Important Information, it will point you to  the Welcome Wagon wherein you will find links to many useful sites and topics. Welcome to the forum! Good to see another Cornhusker out there, I am a part-time one, I have a place about 40 miles south of you, between Albion and St. Edward in the big berg of Boone! I have not seen many Cubs around there, good to hear you found one, best of luck with it.
