Hello,
Mike here, purchased a 1947 Farmall Cub a few months back out in Western New York. It was in that family for 67 years. The guy I got it from is the nephew of the original owner and he went through the motor this spring and tuned it up, new hoses, belts, coil adjusted the carb and the thing runs perfect. I felt bad paying what I did for it when I heard it run. It drives awesome! We loaded it on the trailer and was getting ready to leave when his buddy pulled up on a tractor and a trailer full of additional stuff. Snowplow, Harrow, cultivators, Buzz Saw PTO pulley and belt(no Buzz Saw) and a fast hitch. We almost didn't have room for the extras.
I was going to add a Woods Belly Mower, but thought that a Gang of reel mowers might work just as good (only have an acre of lawn to play with). I found a 1946/1947 Worthington Gang mower and the thing is amazing. It works but needs attention. My lawn looks awesome. Can't wait for snow to use the plow. Have been pulling the boat and utility trailer around with it as well. It does need a new paint job but I think I will use it for a couple of years and learn more about it before doing the full restore.
I have already bought the manuals and started the maintenance on the tractor. looking forward to taking it to a gsthering at some point int he near future.

Think about coming out to the manifest Saturday. You will meet a lot of the northeast guys that belong to the board.

Welcome to the forum! Congrats on the new-to-you '47. Just curious what serial number it is. The first 2-3 months of production, IH put a circle Cub decal on the front dogleg, then dropped the decal after that.
Serial numbers by month found here: http://savethecub.com/
Did all the attachments come at an extra cost, or in the original deal? However it was, great haul! Any pics?
BTW: I'd encourage you (and anyone else) to attend a local Cubfest if possible. Very valuable info and friendships to be had.

Re: New Member from Westerm Mass
I just downloaded the Cub Database PDF today and will try to get all the numbers and send them in. I believe the serial number is 9762(but I will get the exact number tonight). So I believe it was built later in the year and is not one of the Circle ones.
Yes all the implements were included in the original price and that made me very happy, since it runs so well.
I have been trying to get info on the Cubfest NE and may try to make that one.
Looking forward to meeting other owners and seeing what else is available for it.

Re: New Member from Westerm Mass
I am definitely looking at attending the Columbus Day weekend one if I can, it all depends on how work goes. I will be actually putting it on my trailer this weekend to see how it handles (I rented one to go pick it up). Also going to be sandblasting the snowplow blade this weekend and taking some pictures for the site.
Looking forward to meeting some other local owners as well if I can make it.
