Hello, bought my first cub a month ago, a 1956, I've wanted this tractor since I was 8 years old. I could have bought it new when I was 3. Anyway it starts and runs great, it's noisy in each gear, don't know if heavier oil would help?. Must change all the fluids and get some manuals

Kind regards

P dubya

Welcome to the forum.
Check out the manuals at the top of this page. Most of the transmissions are noisy.

Welcome to the Forum. As Mike said, the trannys are noisy. It should be a "whine" from the square cut gears. If it's a grinding, you probably have a bad bearing or two. Drain and change the gear oil. You may find that there was a lot of water condensation in there and the gear oil level is higher than it should be.
