Hey, Tim! Welcome! As one of the few females on this forum, and the owner of 4 Cubs and a Super A, I am happy to see you doing the cub rebuild for your DAUGHTER! How old is she? If old enough to hold a wrench, put one in her hand and let her help you! She might learn a lot, and who knows where the interest might take her...future engineer?!

Your zip code shows you are only about 3 1/2 hours from one of the most fun cub events of the year...the DSCF (Deep South Cub Fest) in Sneads, Florida, which is only a few weeks away. Heck, some of us are 12-15 hours away or more. You would meet a lot of good folks from this forum, who gather to work on and/or learn about these tractors. At the same time we have lots of fun and eat plenty of great food. Come on down and join the experience. If you have a trailer, bring your cub, and you might get some good help starting your restoration project. :tractor:

Hi Tim, welcome from SW Alabama. You're about 2 hours from me. :Dito: on Dale's recommendation, DSCF is an awesome event and the people are second to none. Good luck on the stuck engine, BTDT, "bought the tee shirt and wore it out"!!! Lots of great and useful information here, if you need any help, post your questions on the forum. '77 = LONGSTRIPE Cub, not very common. Is it red or yellow and white? '57, is it std FCub or LoBoy? Love to see some pictures. Stan

DSCF is at Mr E's (Roy)house/compound. He has a beautiful workshop, set up with compressor, blast cabinet, rolling hoist, and tools up the wazu. Roy and his wife host anywhere between 50 and 100 folks. They have a hard working crew that make it look real easy, serving 2-3 meals each day.

Some folks drive 2 days to get there (I'm one!). Most come to just join in the experience...ready to learn and help, ready to depart their vast knowledge!! Others will trailer a whole cub or component, to work on. There are usually a couple carb experts that will help you with your troublesome carb. And a few are there just to observe/supervise and tell tall tales!! :D

If there is any way for you to go, you would not be disappointed! It's also family-friendly. Hope to see you there!

Tim, A Cubfest is significantly different from a regular tractor show in that we'll try to fix any project on a Cub that comes in (that can reasonably be done in a weekend). If you have an idea of what your Cub needs, you'll want to bring parts that will be needed (or ask in a post). Roy's web site gives info on meals and lodging in case you didn't see that. You'll also want to PM him in regards to what you want to get done on your Cub.
