Kyle and I have been doing a lot with small engines as of late and I ran across this PDF file from Briggs & Stratton.

Lots of good information here for the experianced to the beginner. I like the "shunt testing" series, we used to do it that way years ago but as modern equipment took over we have gotten away from that.

It just goes to show that with a mulit-meter and a little math you can test about any electrcal curcuit and you do not need a lot of expensive equipment to get acurate results.
