Carberetor cleaning / rebuild "How-to"

Postby Bob Perry » Sun Feb 23, 2014 1:30 pm

Was looking through all the "How-to's" and we sure do have a lot of good ones on this site. Just a suggestion, but there seems to be a need for a nice "How-to" on Cub carburetors, cleaning, etc. Thanks!

Bob,

I did not see anything in the How To Section, but if you Look in Rudi's Manual Server under Maintenance Tips and Techniques, Lurker Carl has several excellent "How-To's" related to carburetors in that section.

Bob, I agree. Nobody has taken that on as a how to as yet. Bob McCarty and I were going to do one for the broken idle tube repair at DSCF but we never had one come up. Some of the other guys may have but I wasn't aware of one. Maybe we will have something at the Bash we can photograph.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

You and Cecil may have had several, but unfortunately I never told you we wanted to do a how to. I was so busy making you move away from the tool box that I never paid attention to what you were doing.

I prepared a simple carb rebuild procedure several years ago. It is need of some updating and probably some expansion before it's fit to publish. It's too large to be uploaded to the Photo Host or to be attached here. Bill, let's discuss this off-line. I emailed a copy to you.
